Biography
Jennifer
Gregson was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. The youngest of
four children, all of whom were involved with some sort of musical
instrument, insured that Jennifer grew up with all genres and varieties
of music. Jennifer’s instrument was her voice and she
gravitated
towards musicals – mostly Annie and Wizard of Oz, which she watched
constantly much to the chagrin of her older siblings.
She
started singing with the St. Louis Children’s Choir around age 13 and
attended Southwest Missouri State University (now just Missouri State
University) in Springfield, MO where she earned her BFA in Theatre
Performance. Her favorite roles were Sister in Damn
Yankees
and Ginny in For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls. After college
she
spent two years immersed in community theatre in St. Louis, where she
played the roles of Gooch in Mame and Sarah in Company.
In
August of 2001, she decided to take the plunge and move to New York
City, where she’s been cast as the Evil Queen in Beneath the Banyan
Tree and as Eve in the musical Delilah, based on the biblical story of
Samson and Delilah. Jennifer has always felt a
strong
passion for singing and at the suggestion of her voice teacher decided
to give Cabaret a shot – and that brings us to today where she’s
currently taking classes and preparing for her first solo
show. |
